With this project, I'm trying to knock out a logo every day or two, which will be a tough ask. I'm not really going off of anything except picking clubs I like, or that I feel need it the most, and so far, I'm staying with Midwest clubs. This next club is one that I have a ton of respect for.
RWB Adria (Red, White, and Blue Adria Chicago) is a club playing in the Premier League of America. Adria was founded in 1959 by Croatian immigrants Slavko Renko, Mato Tomsic, and Viktor Franovic on Croatian Independence day in Chicago, Illinois to strengthen the Croatian community in Chicago. The name came to be after the Soccer Federation of Illinois stated that names nations could not be used in a club's name. The club decided on 'Jardon' meaning Adria, in reference to Croatia's Adriatic Sea.
RWB are a well respected club in the Midwest and have had a large amount of success in all competitions. They have won the National Amateur Cup in 2011 and 2013, The Great Lakes Premier League in 2015, the Peel Cup (Illinois State Cup) in 1988, 1989, 1993, 1994, 2002, 2003, 2005, 2006, and 2008, the Croatian-North American Soccer Tournament in 1966, 1980, 1982, 1984, 1985, 1994, 1998, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, and 2007. They have competed in the US Open Cup 5 times, including a trip to the 3rd round in 2014.
I wanted to stay true to what the club are. I took a lot of interest in old Croatian badges and how they incorporated the half circle look. On the current badge there is a nod to the American flag, but I eliminated that and replaced it with the Chicago flag.
